Calendly is the default scheduling link for a reason. It's polished, it connects to almost everything, and your prospects already know how it works. If you need routing across a sales team or you take payments at booking, it's probably still the right choice.
But booking the meeting was never the hard part for me. The hard part was the 15 percent or so of meetings that never happen, and Calendly mostly treats that as something you mark by hand afterwards. That's the gap Held is built for.
The short answer
- Choose Calendly if you need round robin, routing forms, payments, many integrations, or a tool your whole team already uses.
- Choose Held if you sell, coach or advise one-on-one, you want a free booking link that doesn't cap your event types, and you care more about whether meetings happen than how they get booked.
- Use both if your team books through Calendly. Held reads your calendar, so it tracks Calendly-booked meetings the same as any other.
Pricing, side by side
Calendly's prices are per seat, from calendly.com/pricing as of October 2026.
| Plan | Calendly | Held |
|---|---|---|
| Free | One event type, one calendar connection, no automated reminders | Your own held.page link, risk flags and Zoom attendance for one calendar |
| Entry paid | Standard: $10/seat/mo annually, $12 monthly | Pro: $5/mo, or $48/yr |
| With AI notes | Standard Plus: $18 annually, $24 monthly | Follow-up drafts from your Granola notes (Pro) |
| Teams | Teams: $16 annually, $20 monthly; Teams Plus $24 / $32 | Not offered yet |
| Enterprise | From $15,000/yr, 50 seats minimum | Not offered |
| One-word vanity name | Not applicable | $29/yr for a one-word name like held.page/greg |
For a solo seller, Held Pro costs about half of Calendly Standard. For a team that needs routing, Calendly is the one with the features.
How each one handles no-shows
This is where the two products are most different.
| Calendly | Held | |
|---|---|---|
| Reminders before the meeting | Email and SMS workflows on Standard and up | Booking confirmation, plus an optional day-before "does this still work?" email with one-click confirm; flags unaccepted invites |
| Knowing who actually showed up | Manual "mark as no-show" after the start time (Calendly help) | Checks Zoom's attendance records after the meeting and marks it held or no-show |
| Spotting risky meetings in advance | Not offered | Flags meetings with long lead times, unaccepted invites or a company's past no-shows |
| After a no-show | A workflow can email a "book a new time" link once you mark it | Drafts the follow-up using your notes from the last meeting |
| Meetings booked elsewhere | Only meetings booked through Calendly | Every external meeting on your calendar |
Calendly's AI notetaker, launched in August 2026, joins the call as a bot and drafts a follow-up, which is useful. Held doesn't put anything in the call. It reads Zoom's own attendance data after the meeting, so there's no extra participant for your prospect to wonder about.
Where Calendly is clearly better
I'd rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one, so here's where Calendly wins outright:
- Integrations. Calendly lists 150+, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo and Pardot. Held connects to Google Calendar, Zoom and Granola.
- Team scheduling. Round robin, collective events, routing forms and managed event types are mature. Held is built for individuals today.
- Payments. Stripe and PayPal at booking, payment links and packages. Held doesn't take payments.
- SMS reminders. Calendly includes 250 SMS credits per seat per month on paid plans. Held doesn't send texts.
- Familiarity. Prospects have seen a Calendly page a hundred times.
Where Held is better
- No-show truth. Held shows your real show rate from Zoom attendance, not whatever got logged. One team found their CRM undercounted no-shows by 4.3x.
- Risk before the meeting. Held tells you which meetings this week are likely to fall through, so you can confirm those first.
- A better free plan for one person. Unlimited bookings on a personal link, without the one-event-type cap.
- The link itself. held.page/yourname is short enough to say out loud. Times link straight to a slot, like held.page/ash/oct6-4pm.
- Price. $5 a month for Pro.
Switching from Calendly
You don't have to switch everything at once.
- Claim your held.page link and connect Google Calendar. Held starts tracking every external meeting, including the ones Calendly books.
- Try your held.page link in your email signature for a couple of weeks.
- Compare your show rate on Held-booked meetings against the rest.
If Calendly still fits better after that, keep it. Held will keep watching the meetings either way.
The bottom line
Calendly is a better booking tool for teams. Held is a better tool for making sure the meeting actually happens, and it's free for one person. If you've ever sat in an empty Zoom room refreshing the participant list, start with Held.
